The newest addition to the Portland Trailblazers is none other than the former #3 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, Carmelo Anthony. After missing a little over a year of playing for an NBA team, he was finally picked up and has had his foot on the gas pedal ever since.
On Monday night (November 25) against the Chicago Bulls, Melo scored 25 points passing Alex English for 18th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. To share this moment, actress La La Anthony, Carmelo’s went to the game and had a family moment to commerat5e this accomplishment. Melo’s ex facetimed their son Kiyan from the sidelines to be a part of this historic night.
As seen in the clip, Melo was on the bench when he looked up to La La and seen his son on Facetime. “My son always wants to feel like he’s here,” La La told ESPN.
La La shared a heartfelt post about Melo and Kiyan on her IG. “He is dad’s #1 fan and super excited for this new opportunity. But when it’s all said and done, he’s still a 12-year-old that is going to miss his dad. Portland, you got a great one.”
Despite what happens behind the scenes, La La and Melo know what is best for their kid and will do whatever it takes to make sure that and arrange what’s beneficial for Kiyan.
