What do Beyonce, Shonda Rhimes, Oprah and Serena Williams have in common? They all made Forbes’ prestigious list of powerful women in entertainment for 2018.
And of course, media mogul Oprah topped the list with the number one spot. Beyonce followed with the number six spot. She was recognized for her unforgettable Coachella performance and her profound Vogue cover where she was given full creative control over her cover photo. In addition, the international singer hired the first African American photographer to shoot the cover.
Shonda Rhimes comes in at number six with her nine figure, four year deal with Netflix. The Grey’s Anatomy creator “cemented her place at the forefront of entertainment’s digital future,” according to Forbes. Not only is she worth $135 million, Rhimes is the wealthiest female showrunner.
Serena Williams takes the 14th place after her major comeback to tennis following the birth of her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
