Say Her Name: HBO Releases New Clip from Sandra Bland Documentary

HBO is prepared to release its new documentary film on Sandra Bland.

The former Naperville resident was arrested after a traffic stop in July 2015 and was found hanged to death inside her Texas jail cell on July 13, 2015.  Titled Say Her Name: The Death and Life of Sandra Bland, the HBO film “will follow her family’s search for answers during the two years after her death.”

Shadow and Act reports that “Say Her Name: The Life and Death of Sandra Bland, a new HBO documentary set to air at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, seeks to answer the ongoing question, ‘What really happened to Sandra Bland?”‘

Directed by Kate David and David Heilbroner, the documentary includes commentary from Sandra Bland’s family as they seek to unravel the circumstance behind her mysterious.

Documentaries often leave viewers with more answers than questions and Say Her Name looks like no exception. At its first peak, the documentary seemingly answers why Sandra Bland was in a jail cell by herself and probes the missing video time stamps revolving around her arrest and incarceration.

The film will premiere next week at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival in New York; however, it will debut officially later this year on HBO.
